You can make a difference in the life of a hospice patient. We are always seeking volunteers to visit patients in your area.
How You Can Help a Hospice Patient in Need
Share your friendship with patients and family members wherever they call home. Your presence will calm the patient and relieve the caregiver for a shift lasting up to 4 hours. Volunteer patieVolunteers can also help with yard work, light household chores, dog walking. Patient companions are not expected to provide personal care to patients.
Bedside Emotional Support Team
The BEST volunteers provide a loving, caring and peaceful atmosphere during the transition process of our patients or when additional companionship is needed. Specially trained volunteers sit at the patient's bedside for up to four-hour shifts as an additional service to the professional care team. These volunteers must complete the general volunteer application process and training in addition to advanced BEST training.
Chaplaincy and Social Worker internships are available in all levels. Interns must be enrolled in a school program to qualify. We are proud to welcome the Tulsa Achieves volunteer agency! You can find us on volunteermatch.org.
Support grieving families with friendly visits and phone calls.
Pet Therapy Volunteers
Licensed pet therapy volunteers visit patients wherever they call home. We are always in high demand of pet therapy volunteers.
Help with various administrative duties and/or light office maintenance from our Grace Hospice office which includes:
Community Outreach Volunteers
Help us spread our hospice philosophy by assisting with events and public relations. Some events include bingo, crafts, dementia tours and more.
Arts and Crafts Volunteers
Support our patients and families with creative talents such as sewing, knitting, and crocheting useful items such as:
Our musical therapy volunteers play a tremendous role around the communities we serve.
These licensed volunteers provide simple haircuts, nail care, therapeutic massages to hospice patients.
